Here's what to expect from the moment an order is created all the way through when the customer picks up their NFA item.
The Form 4 Process — Step by Step
Order is created.
Compliance sends customer checklist.
The customer receives a checklist of what they need to provide.
Compliance reviews customer info.
Silencer Shop compliance reviews the submitted information.
Customer reviews & signs DocuSign.
The customer receives and signs the required documents electronically.
Form 3 completed & NFA item delivered (if applicable).
If the item needs to be transferred to your location first, the Form 3 is completed and the item ships to you.
Dealer & customer certify together.
You and your customer jointly certify the Form 4 submission. At this point the form enters the ATF queue.

The next step begins once the ATF approves the Form 4.
Dealer receives ATF approval and sends approval to customer.
Once you receive the approval email, notify your customer.
Customer returns to pick up the NFA item.
The customer comes back to your store.
Dealer & customer complete the 4473.
Complete the standard firearms transfer paperwork together.
Customer leaves with their NFA item.
Transfer complete.
